Pete Rose is a great role model

Pete Rose made quite the impression last week at the U.S. Army Reds Legends Baseball Camp. According to attendees, the all time hits leader was the worst speaker on a great program. "It was a complete embarrassment," said the army camp leader for 7- to 14-year-olds. "You don't swear in front of kids, that's just common sense. He dropped the F-bomb and the S-bomb. He told them winning is everything and if you get second place you're just losers. One of the parents was quoted as: "He asked the kids to just 'forgive his French,' but there was hardly a word they didn't hear from the bad language dictionary. When he arrived with his entourage, it was like Elvis had just entered the building."

Among other remarks Rose made:

-He was “pissed off” that Marge [Schott] didn't leave him any money in her will and that she left it all to the zoo

-He commented that “Marge loved to smoke and she would have smoked in her sleep if someone was there to hold her cigarette all night”

-He said that he “saw Joe DiMaggio in the shower and saw more of him than Marilyn Monroe ever did”

He’s already banned from baseball and pretty soon he’ll be black listed from the public speaking circuit. He’s going to have to resort back to gambling in order to make a decent living. And by decent I mean he’ll be playing three card monte with Big Daddy for food stamps.
