ESPN’s non-stop hyping of Roger Clemens’ return reached new levels of ridiculous this week after they reported that Clemens is ready to return to action following a workout where he threw 62 pitches, none with any velocity.
Are the Yankees serious about letting Clemens test his new slowball pitch in an actual game? If this is the guy they are pinning their hopes on they might as well dig up Cory Lidle and give him a comeback shot too.
Update: Clemens gave a quality six-inning start during his win against the Padres on Saturday afternoon. So I guess I have no clue what's going on anymore. Estelle Getty's still hot right?
