At AT&T Park last night, the American League survived a furious ninth-inning rally to extend their dominance over the National League with a 5-4 victory Tuesday night in the 78th all-star game. The night was topped off by Ichiro winning game MVP and hitting the first ever all-star game inside-the-park homerun. In the last decade, the AL has won 10 straight games played to a decision, with the notorious 2002 tie at Milwaukee interrupting the run.
If the NL sunk any lower, they would be in Darryl Strawberry territory. Only without the cancer. He plays third base for the Yankees.
