Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn were elected into the baseball hall of fame yesterday. Suspected steroid user Mark McGwire fell well short of entry into the hall with only 23% of the votes. How easily everyone forgets that McGwire helped resurrect the game following the strike with his tape measure dingers. The long and short of it is baseball is like an ex-wife – they love you when you bring home the freaking bacon. But get caught boinking your secretary and you will pay for it forever.
